Great Grandma Rentillo turned 90!

Sean, Madison and I had the opportunity to attend Grandma Rentillo's 90th birthday party last weekend in Concord (bay area). I must say, it was wild! The last post I mentioned how spontaneous Sean is; there is also never a dull moment being married to him but I mean that in a great way! Its always and adventure and he for sure keeps me on my toes!  How many 90 year old's do you know who get a surprise guest appearance of Elvis with music, dancing and all the works? It was really funny to see Sean's Grandma boogie down with Elvis in the middle of the restaurant. It was great to see her spunk and youth come out, she still fully enjoys life and always has a positive outlook on life. I love talking with her, she always has so much to say and always has these great elaborate memories she likes to share with me. She is Puerto Rican, she talks with a thick accent and very fast, she is a kind, gentle, yet strong woman who raised 5 girls!!!!

....and the crazy sisters with Grandma and of course...Elvis again posing in front of the pink Cadillac. All the sisters were at the party, flying from all over the country so it was a rare and special occasion for the sisters to be together!

Happy 90th birthday Grandma! We love you!!!

NY Giants vs 49ers!

What a fun trip! As many of you know, Sean is very spontaneous....so how that played out this past weekend was a very last minute trip to the playoff game to see our beloved NY Giants take on the San Francisco 49ers to determine who would play in the super bowl :) Madison, Sean and I drove to Long Beach on Saturday morning to catch a flight into Oakland, then back Monday night (last night). It was a crazy trip but a lot of fun especially because of a close game with the Giants coming out on top! It was fun to see our parents/ family again so soon and fun for Sean and I to get heckled by 49er fans for hours in the freezing, pouring rain! We thought about NOT wearing NY Giants gear but the closer to game time the more we wanted to have fun cheering for our team and decided...let's go for it and wear the gear! Plus, I had a nice, warm beanie hat that I wanted to wear :)
No, we are not going to the Super Bowl but will enjoy watching on TV next to our warm fireplace!

We took a few more photos on our phones but because of the rain, we didn't take a REAL camera!

Kalub Christmas

We had a nice long vacation this Christmas and have a lot to share with just one post but here are some highlights!

Madison and I flew to Nor Cal on December 18th and Sean drove up to join us on December 23rd. We had fun visiting with the family, doing a little more shopping and enjoying the colder weather since So Cal has been so warm this December. After Christmas Sean and I got a chance to enjoy a little date overnight in San Fransisco. We stayed at the Westin St. Francis hotel across from Union Square and enjoyed a nice dinner at Bourbon Steakhouse. The next day we went to Pier 39 and had fun eating clam chowder, walking the pier and watching the sea lions. It was great that Sean had the week off between Christmas and New Years so he had a chance to get some rest too!

We spent Christmas Eve Day with Mom Kalub before she headed to Seattle for the week. We spent the night and had fun looking through baby photos of Sean. Up until this day I had never seen a baby photo of Sean other than a photo when he was 4 yrs old so this was a fun treat. Thank you to Sean for getting 15 boxes down from the attic of his Grandmothers home in Vallejo! I had been waiting 4 yrs for this!

Sean's new Christmas hat, I have a frog hat.

Our happy toddler, rare that I can capture smiles but this was precious, she was in a fun, silly mood!

Here are cousin Marissa and Taylor. We spent Christmas day at the Hutchison's in Granite Bay.

Madison loved the wrapping paper and ribbon when it wasn't her turn to open a gift.

The day after Christmas Sean, my Dad and brother in law played 5 hours of paintball. It was my mom's idea when we were at the Mall in Sacramento to get tickets as a stocking stuffers for all the men. It was fun to send them out to wound each other as the girls anticipated who would get shot the most...I think it was a tie but they all came back very colorful! We missed having Brent with us this year, he had to work in San Diego. We arrived back in San Clemente on December 30th and have taken down our Christmas tree today before Sean goes back to work! Happy New Year!
