We can't believe 1 year has already flown by! This has been such a fun year with Madison, watching her change and grow into a spunky, sweet little girl :) She loves to play and watch Baby Einstein. She eats everything she finds on the floor...which I guess it is more motivation for me to keep my floors clean all the time! We had a fun little birthday party with Uncle Brent. She had her first piece of cake. It was a little painful watching her eat cake, for one, she was messy, but for 2, she will never again be a sugar free baby, there is no going back! Here come years of yummy sweet birthday cake, not just her birthday cake either..all her friends parties will have cake.
Yummy Mommy and Daddy!!! I think I like cake!!! Let them eat cake!
more cake please...........I made a red velvet giant cupcake for her first birthday. The cupcake had pink sprinkles and butterfly sprinkles!
Once she got going on the cake...she kept going for more!
I found this really cute giant cupcake mold at discount cooking supply store in Pacific Beach. I need a little practice on the decorating but overall it turned out cute!
We love you Madison Rene Kalub! We pray you have many more joyous birthdays with Mommy and Daddy! You are so precious to us and you make our hearts so happy.... every day!
1Peter 1:8 and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls.

We Moved!!
We FINALLY are getting settled into our new home in San Diego, more specifically Pacific Beach, just a mile from the ocean! We moved into a 2 bedroom home with my brother on September 4th, labor day weekend. Sean and I share a room with Madison so we are nice and cozy :) The move is temporary, about 6 months so that we can, Lord willing save enough to get into our own home in the Spring of next year.
What made our move even more memorable is that Madison came down with a cold which then turned into an ear infection on Sunday, the day after we moved in. She was in so much pain and was running a high fever of 104. We finally took her to Urgent care Monday night at about Midnight. Antibiotics have been slow to work and she now has a rash but Praise the Lord that she is now drinking some fluids and not crying for hours on end, poor baby! I didn't realize how great we have had it for a healthy baby the last 11 months of her life!
Here is our backyard with a nice porch to hang out during the evenings! Notice the rather large satellite dish on the roof, compliments of Direct TV...I don't think its large enough though.

Our little "curious George" exploring the kitchen. She pulled the food out of the pantry yesterday, supervised of course!
We are looking forward to enjoying the sites, drinking coffee at the cute, cozy little shops around P.B and explore Balboa Park and maybe even Sea World at some point! We will miss Compass Bible church but we already have had a chance to visit Shadow Mountain in El Cajon that is great. David Jeremiah is the pastor of the church and a great speaker, biblical and very encouraging.
Here is our lil boo boo at 11 months!
Here is Madison with her 1st front tooth :) So cute!
Madison and I went to watch Brent surf this morning! You could see the wheels turning by the look on her face, wondering what everything was around her!
Surf's up!
She loved the beach this morning! We woke up at 8am, got bundled up after breakfast and headed 1 mile to Pacific Beach. It was perfect weather and the waves weren't bad either( according to Brent). Madison loved watching all the birds surround us as well as a pinch of sand in her mouth...but just a pinch, not enough to hurt just taste a little gritty.
