Jogging with our Jogger!

We enjoyed the beautiful day outside a few weeks ago in Pacific Beach, I rented a beach cruiser bike and Sean jogged with Madison in our jogging stroller, I am glad he was the one jogging and I had the luxury of being on the bike :) I think this is the first time we have used the jogger stroller for actual jogging...we have taken it off roading many times on trails, the shocks are amazing..anyway, glad we could put it to good use and Sean got his exercise at the same time. I think I had the more difficult mode of transportation though, if you have ever tried to ride a bike on the beach path in Pacific Beach you know that avoiding pedestrians, other bikers and skate boarders is not an easy task. It would be easier traveling down the 405 freeway on a moped! We are really hoping Madison will be willing to wear a helmet soon so we can ride as a family and put her in the baby seat on our bike...that would be so fun!

Madison looks a little confused or not very interested in smiling here.

Genesis Awards-Kalubs on the Red Carpet

Sean and I had a good time this past weekend attending the Genesis Awards hosted by The Humane Society in Century City. Sean works directly with The Humane Society so we were invited to attend this big event, red carpet and all! We didn't break out our fur jackets or suede shoes for the evening and the vegan meal we were served was fairly tasty considering it was vegan, which is a new experience for me. Here are some photos to capture the evening!

The Red Carpet! (minus all the photographs and poparazzi)

Here we are with our buddy "Machete", Danny Trejo, for those of you who don't recognize him he is an actor that we like to see in various movies. He was really nice!

It was fun being on the red carpet, not as glamorous as you would think though. We did see Betty White, Kristen Davis and a few other actors from sitcoms that I don't know by name.

We stayed the night at Sunset tower which was very beautiful, nice to not have to share a room with Madison for the night. Thank you Uncle Brent for babysitting little Madison overnight, what a great uncle! The awards show will air on Animal Planet on April 30th and May 1st, we may be in the background, but with editing a 2 hour show down to 40 minutes we may not make the cut!

Mom/Japanese exchange students news story

My parents have the opportunity to host Japanese exchange students a few times a year that attend UC Davis to study English for a few weeks at a time. During the tragic earthquake and tsunami they were hosting two girls who both had families in Southern Japan. Their families were not effected directly by the events but I'm sure they know people or have friends that were effected in some way. My mother and the girls were interviewed by CBS in their home in Woodland regarding the program and tragedy. Check it out if you get a chance, hopefully my parents can help them deal with what has happened and be a good testimony.

So Tired Mommy!

Madison fell asleep in her high chair earlier today while I was cleaning the bathrooms. She had a long week with cousins in Sacramento and was teething with fevers last week on top of that, so after her tummy was full with avocado, pasta and green beans she was out cold. I moved her to the bedroom to finish off the rest of her nap.
Sean's mom says that Sean did the same thing when he was little, sleep anywhere, anytime!
So much for getting her back on a nap schedule again this week...we will start that tomorrow :)
